Opus vermiculatum, a site-specific work is created on site in relation to the material available and the space it occupies. Realised during the REBART event, it takes its inspiration from the numerous medieval towers of the town of Dettelbach, its nature and surroundings. The title recalls the ancient Roman mosaic technique, where opus vermiculatum literally defined the pattern of the small tesserae that made up the mosaic, in this case represented by the many elements of vine trunks that together make up the work. A link between the past and nature. In the work, the openness corresponds entirely to the organic character of the round tower and also to its opening upwards. The aspect of dissolution in space or deconstruction, which shows two qualities of the uprooted vines, the dead and dry one as construction material and the living aspect that is formally shown in its many twists, turns and curves. The work appears alive, a nest, a swarming of worms. A place to occupy, to live, a place of rest and meditation.
