Here are a few things about me

Since my early childhood I have loved to draw and model, so much so that I identify completely with what I realize and imagine. My works are inspired by nature, physical and emotional experiences including humor and sensuality and the representation of urban landscapes I live in.I love to experiment with the expressive possibilities of materials, such as wood, stone, clay, and very often it is the same materials that I sometimes collect in nature, to suggest to me which path and expressive language to take.My works made directly on site, in urban areas or in natural environment, are often composed of several elements and in relation to the place and space they occupy change in meaning.

Fin dalla mia prima infanzia ho amato disegnare e modellare, tanto da identificarmi completamente con ciò che realizzo e immagino. Le mie opere traggono ispirazione dalla natura, da esperienze fisiche e emozionali incluso umorismo e sensualità e dalla rappresentazione dei paesaggi urbani che abito. Amo sperimentare le possibilità espressive dei materiali, come il legno, la pietra, l'argilla e molto spesso sono gli stessi materiali che qualche volta raccolgo in natura, a suggerirmi quale strada e linguaggio espressivo percorrere.Le mie opere realizzate direttamente sul luogo, in aree urbane o nell'ambiente naturale, sono spesso composte da più elementi ed in relazione al luogo e allo spazio che occupano cambiano di significato.

Inizi e formazione

Sono nata e cresciuta a Roma, città ricca di storia, arte, bellezza e tante aree verdi. Città dove l'aspetto pagano si mescola col credo cattolico come in un film di Fellini. E' un'eredità dalla quale è impossibile liberarsi e che ha costruito senza dubbio i miei canoni estetici e formali. Al termine del mio percorso accademico in scultura presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, ho avuto l'opportunità di lavorare ed apprendere l'arte del mosaico presso il laboratorio di Costantino Buccolieri. Quest'esperienza per quanto apparentemente distante dalla scultura mi è stata molto utile negli anni e ritorna tuttora in quella che è la mia ricerca artistica attuale, nella scultura e nella land art. Negli anni ho avuto occasione di approfondire varie tecniche di scultura, di conoscere i più diversi materiali e in questo sono state determinanti le residenze per artisti, e soprattutto la possibilità di realizzare opere site specific in grande formato per spazi pubblici e privati integrate all'ambiente al quale sono destinate.Tra queste l'opera "Mani" in travertino romano per la caserma dei Vigili del Fuoco di Montesacro est a Roma, o la scultura "Bolle d'aria" in marmo presso la collezione permanente della Cantina Produttori Cormòns di Gorizia.

Punto di svolta

La svolta nel mio percorso artistico è arrivata nel 2017, quando sono stata invitata a partecipare ad un evento di land art itinerante Global Nomadi Art Project in Turchia, dove noi artisti dovevamo usare materiali naturali trovati sul posto per realizzare installazioni effimere in un ambiente completamente naturale. Come scultrice, questa opportunità mi ha permesso di guardare oltre una visione tradizionale della scultura, oltre ogni convenzione, di scoprire l'aspetto ludico, creativo, e di esprimermi attraverso materiali naturali e oggetti ritrovati. Questo unito ad una nuova ricerca poetica ha ampliato per sempre la mia visione artistica.Queste occasioni di scambio con altri artisti, di conoscenza, di lavoro in contesti e paesi diversi dal mio, mi hanno resa ciò che sono oggi, e mi hanno permesso di maturare professionalmente di crescere umanamente. Un percorso che è divenuto nel tempo uno stile di vita e che rappresenta ancora oggi per me un'importante occasione di confronto dal punto di vista artistico, intellettuale e umano.

Early beginnings and training

I was born and grew up in Rome, a city rich in history, art, beauty and many green areas. A city where the pagan aspect mixes with the Catholic faith like in a Fellini movie. It is a heritage from which it is impossible to escape and which has certainly built my aesthetic and formal canons. At the end of academic studies, I had the opportunity to work at the studio of Costantino Buccolieri and learn technique of mosaic. While apparently distant from sculpture, this experience has been very useful to me over the years and it is still at core of what is my current artistic research, in sculpture and land art. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge of various sculpture techniques, to get to know the most various materials. In this respect, the residencies for artists as well as the possibility of crafting site-specific works in large format for public and private spaces integrated with the environment have been fundamental for my research. Among these works, "Mani" in Roman travertine for the fire station of Montesacro est in Rome, and the sculpture "Bolle d'aria" in marble in the permanent collection of the Cantina Produttori Cormòns in Gorizia stand out.

Turning point

The turning point in my artistic career came in 2017, when I was invited to participate in an itinerant land art event Global Nomadic Art Project in Turkey, where artists were asked to use natural materials found on site to create ephemeral installations in a completely natural environment. As a sculptor, this opportunity allowed me to look beyond a traditional vision of sculpture, and to express myself artistically. All this along with a new poetic research has forever expanded my artistic vision. and of working in contexts and countries different from mine have made me what I am today and have allowed me to grow personally and professionally. This part has become a style of life and it represents an exchange with artists, both intellectually and humanly.
